[Chapter 16]

The last chapter, Mikan leaves Sumire to go back for Natsume, who she thinks is about to do something really stupid. Well she actually thought right, because Natsume was about to blow the bad guys together with himself up.

Good thing Mikan comes to the rescue! Worried for her partners safety, she tackles Natsume to the ground and successfully nullifies his alice. And then proceeds to call him an idiot and ask what the heck did he think he was doing. He doesn't get a chance to answer because here comes Reo with his voice pheromone that more or less knocks Natsume out.After accidentally rendering his own lackeys useless too, Mikan gets a chance and drags Natsume to safety.

Well after escaping (temporarily) from Reo and his lackeys, Natsume tells Mikan to go on and leave without him. Mikan of course refuses and they start to argue yet again. Mikan explains to Natsume that everybody back at the academy is really worried about him and that going back without him would waste everything they've done thus far. After that inspirational speech (where in Natsume listens rather attentively), one of the bad guys find them and try and capture them again.

Mikan tries to fight back but gets pushed back into a wall with much force. Seeing this Natsume goes berserk and lets loose his alice.

[Chapter 38]

This particular moment happens somewhere between the Z arc. Mikan finally finds Natsume, who turns out, just went for a drink. Mikan says that she was about to get the water and Natsume tells her he was too tired of waiting. They talk a little, Mikan compares Natsume and Luca's friendship with her's and Hotaru's. Their conversation then shifts to alice stones, Mikan asks Natsume if he overheard her and Ruka talking and he just stays quiet. Natsume then remembers something that Sumire had said about the alice stones being one of the school's "love ways". Mikan sees Natsume is deep in thought and tries to call him, but as expected from him, no answer. She then says to herself that watching the moon with Luca was far more better (T.T) and then thinks about the meaning of the alice stone.

After her reflection, she calls Natsume again and tells him that she'll give his stone to him someday. Natsume is surprised, but of course he won't let it show and then tells Mikan he doesn't want it. Knowing Ruka's feelings towards Mikan he reminds her that she had already made an agreement with Ruka. Mikan retaliates that she could make 2 (because she needs three, one for Hotaru, Ruka and him). But Natsume insists that she gives hers only to Ruka, he then suddenly splashes her with water. And thus starts their water fight.

Mikan is soaking wet and Natsume calls her. Mikan is annoyed and tells him that she won't answer but Natsume continues to speak anyway (-.-). He tells her, that five years from now...

"Five years later, do you still want to have this hairstyle? This hairstyle doesn't suit you at all. The you five years later, let your hair down."

But Natsume being the mysterious and complicated person we love and know so well, he adds...

"Nevermind... You look better like this."

Mikan blushes and is rendered speechless and tries to act casual by saying that no one will listen to him and proceeds to chase him back to camp.

[Chapter 49]

The christmas party has started and Natsume sees his friend (Ruka) by the buffet table. He then approaches him and asks why he was being all jumpy (We all know why ;). But well for people who don't, Ruka kissed Mikan on the cheek and he's being shy about it). Anyway, Ruka says its nothing but then here comes Hotaru (Mikan chasing right behind her), who hands him a plate of something and tells him something. It hits him for some reason and looks after Hotaru with a shocked look (I don't know if that was shocked or scared). Anyway, Mikan finally catches up to her friend (who sadly went to dance with her brother) and accidentally makes eye contact with Ruka, she then (remembers the kiss) blushes and hides behind her mask. Natsume sees this and becomes suspicious. Ruka sees Natsume's reaction and tells the two to dance for a while. The two then stare at Ruka in disbelief. Ruka says they should dance and walks off with a sad smile on his face.

Back to the two lovebirds, Mikan is hesitant at first and was then surprised when Natsume suddenly took a hold of her hand. Mikan blushes but complies and they start to dance. Natsume then notices that Mikan is real quiet and remembers the dance she had with Ruka.

He tells her, "You were laughing when dancing with Ruka, smile a little unskilled ugly girl. What's with you?"

Mikan is annoyed by this (for some reason) and the two start calling each other names. All of a sudden a fox comes out of nowhere and jumps on Natsume's head. After interrupting the fight it skipped merrily on its way. But the intrutions just don't end, two dancers accidentaly bump into the two which causes a sudden tooth kiss! Well no matter what Mikan calls it a kiss is still a kiss, accidental or not. Natsume is for some reason annoyed (But we all know he liked it XD) and tells her...

"Apparently you not only dance terribly, but you kiss very terribly too.."

Poor, poor Mikan-chan.
